Meet Eileen, Our Head Cowgirl!
From horse shows to ranching, Eileen's done it all. She makes sure everything runs smoothly for our horseback adventures, taking care of the horses and assuring that our guides are the most knowledgeable on Kaua'i.
She says of her mission, "I find great satisfaction in a holistic approach to horseback adventures. I give equal attention to guest enjoyment, horse health and training—both guides and horses."
A Veterinary Technician and a certified Riding Instructor, Eileen has worked with many masters of Natural Horsemanship. Her approach involves understanding the psyche of horses—how they think and react—to create willing equine partners who are happy in their work. Her method creates a respectful and cooperative relationship among horses, guides and guests.
On working at Princeville Ranch, she comments, "Throughout the years we've had many guests who come back over and over again. They notice the high quality of care and attention here. They also appreciate how special it is to ride across a working cattle ranch and enjoy access to private land."
Eileen also heads up the Instructor staff for lessons in riding and horsemanship. Both private and semi-private lessons are available, for children as well as adults. Click here for more information.
In 2011 Eileen celebrated her birthday with the trip of a lifetime. She visited Pioneer Mountain Ranch in Montana to ride with world-class horse trainer Randy Rieman. Eileen reports, "We rode for five hours a day across the open plains and up into the mountains. It was incredible to see elk, bear and even a few rattlesnakes in this beautiful wilderness."
Come visit Eileen and her equine friends next time you're on Kauai! They'd love to meet you and show you our beautiful private ranch.
